ABOUT OWNER

Latiena Bolen has been dancing since the tender age of 13. She began her journey at the Vista Community Center, where she was introduced to jazz, ballet and hip-hop. She was a thriving dancer and received her first dance scholarship from the Oceanside Dance Academy where she was trained under the instructions of Joselyn K. Wilson and Joe Tremaine.


​Latiena received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at San Diego State University. She studied under some of the finest teachers in the dance world, such as Patrica Sandback, Melissa Nunn and Faith Jensen-Ismay.

In 1998, Latiena began her professional dance career as a dancer with Jammin Z-90, the local radio station in San Diego and CBA basketball team,  The San Diego Stingrays.

​

In 2000, Latiena became a NFL professional cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers'.  Her professional career landed her an appearance to perform with American Idol Star, William Hung who sang Ricky Martin's popular song, "She Bangs". She also did numerous of shows for a local San Diego upcoming artist, Rika Rai as a back up dancer.

Latiena established Latiology in 2018. Presently, she is teaching one on one classes in the local areas of Orange County.  She has taught cheerleading and dance workshop at Underground Dance Studio, the Jewish Community Center and the Boys and Girls Club of Irvine and Santa Ana.  As an instructor and coach, her focus is to provide a positive and safe environment where students are taught about team-building, self awareness and empowerment.
